Mr David Straughan
David accepted the position of Musical Director of the Wirral Symphonic Wind Band in July 2002. David retired from the post of Inspector of Schools for Music and Visual Arts for Wirral in December 2004. During his term as Inspector of Schools for Music David was a keen supporter of wind bands at all levels. He is no stranger to the W.S.W.B. having conducted and played trombone with the band on many occasions since the band was formed in 1987 and was particularly supportive of the band during our early years.
